The biggest difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant is money. Accountants charge a much higher rate and are best used in analyzing the financial strategies of a business. Bookkeepers help more with tracking the day-to-day finances of your business. Both bookkeepers and accountants are important to your business. Knowing the difference between them can save you hundreds of dollars a year in fees.

Getting a clear financial picture of your business is essential. In order to achieve this, you must have an organized system of storing your financial records. You also need to know where you are financially on a regular basis and have professional statements prepared. All businesses must submit government remittances accurately and on time.
